David Mellor Design, The Round Building S32 1BA

Tour led by - Corin Mellor

A fantastic tour of David Mellor Design, which consists of a design museum & cafe (2006),  cutlery factory (1989) and shop . Set in the Peak District the Round building (cutlery factory) was designed by architect Sir Michael Hopkins working closely David Mellor and his son, Corin. Far from a typical industrial building the circular factory was “built using a pioneering steelwork and pine-panel construction that is also evident in the design of the house. ‘The style relates to the other buildings on the site,’ Corin says” - http://www.telegraph.co.uk/interiors/peak-district-home-david-mellor-design/
