Dear Sheffield, 2014.
As part of Sheffield Society of Architects’ 125th anniversary, dearSheffield asked 125 well-known Sheffielder’s and members of the public to submit a postcard about something they love about the Sheffield. We collected anecdotes, photos, drawings and poems which depicted favourite places around the city which was displayed on tumblr (http://dearsheffield.tumblr.com/). A selection of the postcards were curated into a set of construction cards at ‘postcard scale’ as well as ‘exhibition scale’. We held a very well attended receptions as part of Urban Design Week 2013 and LoveArchitecture 2014 where attendees could walk around the exhibition, build small-scale models and network. The display subsequently toured a number of venues in the city, increasing exposure of SSA and encouraging people to think about the city.
