Briefed to create a ramblers' cafe, Studio Gedye "creates a building whose spirit of place, and even of purpose, are a key factor in improving the visitor experience".
The visitor centre acts as a gateway for those frequenting Longshaw Estate and the Peak District, it consists of a remodel of the existing stable block, a new build dining area, covered external seating areas.
"The visitor centre as a building type or of certain appearance is becoming somewhat ubiquitous, but Destination Longshaw feels like a valuable example of a relatively humble building that has responded to its context and brief in many simple yet delightful ways."

It was also awarded the Outstanding Project of the Year, Medium Project Winner and Interiors Joint Winner for SDA2022,
