Tour led by - Vinci Construction
A unique opportunity to see behind the scenes of the refurbishment of the Grade I listed Buxton Crescent Hotel.
The Crescent, built between 1779 and 1789 consisted of two purpose built hotels, six lodging houses and assembly rooms. Designed by John Carr of York, it was set to become the centrepiece establishing Buxton as a Georgian Spa Town as per The Fifth Duke of Devonshire’s vision.
Due to its declining state of repair, the High Peak Borough Council and Derbyshire County Council launched the Buxton Crescent and Spa project, as part of the heritage-led regeneration of Buxton. The project includes 80 bedroom 5* spa hotel which will occupy the majority of the Crescent.
Construction by Vinci Construction began in early 2016 and is expected to open in 2019.
