Experiencing the Architecture of Flockton: Walk 2

1pm, Sunday 11th September 2022

10am, Saturday 17th September 2022

Tour led by - Sarah Foxwell

Flockton were a series of architectural practices that were based in Sheffield in the 19th and 20th centuries. The firms were responsible for a number of significant buildings in the Sheffield area, many of which are still in use and some subject to recent refurbishment/alteration.
In 2015, Sheffield Society of Architects (SSA), a branch of the Royal Institute of British Architects (RIBA), purchased an archive of Flockton drawings and, following archival work, have put together walking tours which take in key buildings by Flockton.

Walk 2 begins outside of the Dog & Partridge pub, Trippet Lane, following a route through the city centre and the Wicker, concluding at the Riverside pub, where no doubt several of us will require a refreshing drink.

The walk will soon be available to download from our website for a self-guided tour (with map and information). Additional routes are planned in the future.
