25th November 2019 11am-12:30pm

Wentworth, Rotherham, S62 7TQ

Tour led by - Woodhead Group

Step back in time on a fascinating tour of Grade I listed Wenworth Woodhouse which is currently under restoration, and a huge scaffold, see the exposed roof structure and unfinished rooms uncovering layers of history.

Wentworth Woodhouse was said to be the largest private house (in the UK) with over 300 rooms and has the longest façade, 185m, of any country house in Europe. It grew from a Jacobean house built in the 1630s with the addition of the Baroque style house in 1725-1735 (West) and the Palladian style addition (East). The house is now under restoration since 2016 having been bought by the Wentworth Woodhouse Preservation trust who aims to raise funds to repair and restore. It is envisioned to take place over 20 years and to include events spaces, commercial units, catering and holiday accommodation.

Please bring your own PPE (personal protective equipment) if possible.

Get in touch if you would like to car share.
